BANKS

BANKS in Swaziland are slow, the pens usually don't work, there is often no carbon paper, the staff are often under-trained and occasionally unpleasant. Because of this banks are slow and congested.

Try to use a card in an ATM if you can, though these occasionally don't work either. All branches of Standard bank have ATMs, there is a First National ATM in the New Mall, Standard Bank and Nedbank have multiple ATMs at the Swazi Plaza. There are ATMs at the Royal Swazi Spa and Casino in Ezulwini and all three banks have ATMs at The Gables shopping center in Ezulwini. If you are staying in a hotel, reception will usually change travellers cheques and foreign currency, but at a lower rate than the banks. Banks are usually open from 8.30 to 2.30 (or 3.30 depending on the bank) on weekdays and from 8.30 to 11.00 on Saturdays.
